Empowered To Go
In Matthew 28:18, Jesus declares: “All power is given to me in heaven and in earth,” and I have the power to empower you to empower others. The word “power” in this text is the Greek word “exousia” which translates “the power to act, the authority.”
Jesus has delegated that authority, the power to act on His behalf, to every person who professes Him as Lord, in effect saying, “Because I have the legal right to do so, I now commission, send you to empower others to follow me.”
Step 1) Go and share the gospel (Acts 1:8). No need to wait until Sunday morning, wherever you find yourself, as the opportunity presents itself, proclaim the gospel.
Step 2) When they hear and repent (that change of mind/that change of direction), baptize them in the name of the Father (He who so loved that we might not perish), in the name of the Son (He who fulfilled/died that we might live) and in the name of the Holy Spirit (He who empowers that we might have power to empower).
Step 3) Teach them to observe all things, all that I have commanded you to do so that they too will be empowered and empowered to empower.
This is the priority purpose for every believer. We have the power to empower others and we do not need the title or the collar or the platform or podium or the sanctuary to do so.
